I was looking for quotes for my msn nick when i came across a quote by Alexis de Tocqueville .
I was shocked, mad and sad that anyone can think such a thing about Islam.
Its horrible how the name of Islam has been smeared because of some horrible people.
This is what he said...
I studied the Quran a great deal. I came away from that study with the conviction that by and large there have been few religions in the world as deadly to men as that of Muhammad. As far as I can see, it is the principal cause of the decadence so visible today in the Muslim world and, though less absurd than the polytheism of old, its social and political tendencies are in my opinion more to be feared, and I therefore regard it as a form of decadence rather than a form of progress in relation to paganism itself.
If this is what he means by reading the Quran a great Deal, I beg to differ.
This is like a debate, one has every right to voice out his or her opinion, but the facts MuSt be there.
I think its unfair how he Describes Islam, and rather narrow-minded as well.
But then again, im going to meet lots of people with such opinions in the future. THere simply isnt any point in arguing with them.
What I think me and My MuslIm friends should do is show people what Islam really is about.
This way they can make a more fair Judgement.
